Zombies in the Bible

Someone please tell me if you already knew about this: Zechariah 14:12 describes a plague from the Lord that turns the enemy nations of Jerusalem into zombies! Here’s the description from the NLT:

“Their people will become like walking corpses, thier flesh rotting away. Their eyes will shrivel in their sockets, and their tongues will decay in their mouths. On that day they will be terrified, stricken by the Lord with great panic. They will fight against each other in hand-to-hand combat”

Now if that ain’t zombies what is it? Then in verse fifteen it says “the same will happen to horses, mules, camels, donkeys, and all other animals in the enemy camps.”

Now see, if Tim Lahaye, Hal Lindsay, and John Hagee were to include this in their stories they could gain a completely new sci-fi market! You heard it here first.

does Rob Zombie know about this?

  3. Dave Canfield Says:

Zombies don’t feel fear and generally speaking don’t fight one another in either their haitian or Romero incarnations.

And animals don’t turn into zombies

The dead also rose with Jesus in one of the gospels. ZOMBIE JESUS!!!!

  6. Danny Bonaduce Says:

nuclear devastation and intense radiation poisioning. Not zombification.

I think you make an interesting point. I will give it to dave, animals cannot become zombies by way of viral infection. However, if we are talking about the Lord here, it is quite possible. With the question of whether or not God would turn people into zombies, to debate the possibility of zombie animals seems a bit trivial.

Also, zombies do not feel fear. Nor do they feast on eachother. But here again, I am basing my knowledge on viral zombies. These “Holy Zombies” might be of a completely different breed.

    read carefully

    Zechariah 14:12
Their people will become like walking corpses, thier flesh rotting away.

that means their like walking corpse. their Not walking corpse. They only look like walking corpse. Cause their Rotting away alive, not rotting away dead.
their for their not zombies, just zombie like. if God said Their People will become walking corpse, then that means they become zombies. but since He said Their People will become LIKE walking Corpse. That means their not zombies but their Like zombies. :)

lol took me a while to realize that. ;)

Is this talking about an event in the past, or is it talking about the future (end times)?
Are there gonna be zombies during the Tribulation period?
