"Easy Does It”

This day can be very simple. I can take each moment as it comes. I can pray the Serenity Prayer. I can do the next right thing. Make coffee and breathe it in. Clean my desk. Walk my errands. Enjoy the sunshine. Value the jobs I consider meaningless. The things I’ve been neglecting. The little chores no one sees. This is real life, not life lived in my head. Other people suddenly matter. Simple little conversations–chit chat—matter. Things slow way down. There is not competition. I do not live by great existential truths. I live in the moment. Taking breaths. My heart beating. My eyes blinking. Maybe a little nap. Nothing in particular to say. “Easy does it.”
