current reading: Following Jesus in a Culture of FEAR

I’m now reading the latest book in Brazos Press “The Christian Practice of Everyday Life Series” titled Following Jesus in a Culture of FEAR by Scott Bader-Saye. It is most excellent. He leans a lot on Aquinas’ writings about love as the parent of fear, also on Augustine and Benedict, but then equally smatters in prescient popular music, movies and stories from the news. This topic is of supreme importance in our churches and there is a wealth of sermon and lesson material here for anyone. Go get it.
